Streets of Rage 4 are currently under development in the Lizardcube studios (the same team that successfully dealt with Wonder Boy The Dragon’s Trap) and while waiting for the launch, the community questions itself on some technical aspects of the project, in a particular way regarding the Nintendo Switch version.
Responding to a question on Twitter, the study confirmed that Streets of Rage 4 will run at 60 fps on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch, without uncertainties or framerate drops. Moreover, we must point out, SOR4 is a 2D fighting game that is not too complex from a technical point of view and therefore there will be no problems of any kind in guaranteeing stable and constant 60 fps in every situation.
Streets of Rage 4 is expected for 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, it is a real return to the scene for a series absent since 1994, year of publication of Streets of Rage III for Mega Drive. In the following years, SEGA tried to bring the series on Saturn and Dreamcast but the developed prototypes did not turn into complete products and the brand was put aside, also due to the decrease in popularity of the scrolling fighting games.
Definitively 60 FPS on Switch, we are not monsters!
