Death Stranding, Mads Mikkelsen speaks: trying the game “has left me breathless”

Death Stranding

Mads Mikkelsen recently accompanied Hideo Kojima on his trip to Russia, taking part in the Comic-Con in Moscow. On this occasion, the Danish actor released an interesting interview with TASS.

During the talk several topics were touched, including, of course, the role played by Mikkelsen in Death Stranding and his impressions on the creation of Kojima Productions. ” I spent two hours with the game – the actor says – and left me breathless […] It was not only shocking visually, but also in the way it was played. It’s quite out of the box, something which we’ve never seen before. And I think that’s what people expect from Hideo Kojima. ” On his character, Mikkelsen does not unbutton himself too much but believes that Cliff, the protagonist of The Game Awards 2016 Death Stranding trailer, is not simply an antagonist. “The more you play – he says – the more the characters will develop, you will find small fragments that make up the puzzle […] “.

In recounting his experience on the game set, Mikkelsen recalled with fun the recording environment and the need to be surrounded by green screens, wearing a completely green suit and a helmet with a camera. The actor has also evoked as a greater challenge than this experience having to accept the fact that he does not know the whole story ” from A to Z “: ” This is not how it works in the world of Hideo or in the world of video games “.

During the Russian trip, even Kojima himself shared interesting details on the production, revealing the possible impact of Sam on the life and death of the NPCs in Death Stranding.
