Serious Sam: Croteam co-founder leaves the company and joins Google Stadia

Serious Sam

From the pages of his social and LinkedIn profiles, Alen Ladavac announces that he has left the position of Chief Technology Officer of Croteam to be able to write a new page of his professional career in the ranks of the Google team in charge of shaping the Stadia project.

In greeting his now-former workmates after 25 years at Croteam, the co-founder of the Croatian software house that gave rise to the Serious Sam and The Talos Principle series explains that “it saddens me to let you know that I have just separated from my dear friends and colleagues from Croteam. I love you all and I will never forget all the wonderful years I spent with you and the fantastic things we have created together”.

Having made this due preamble, Ladavac then described what will be his new professional adventure within Google stating that “I am extremely excited to announce that I am starting to work in Google München, joining the fantastic team of Stadia to finally bring video games in the age of cloud gaming. What was once considered impossible, has now become reality and I am grateful to Google for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this historic enterprise “ .

Waiting to find out which projects will be entrusted to the former Croteam executive, we remind you that Google Stadia’s in-game streaming platform will officially open its doors here in Italy during the month of November for buyers of Founder’s Edition and Premiere Edition. The basic subscription, on the other hand, will wait until the early months of 2020: thanks to it it will be possible to play up to a maximum resolution of 1080p and 60fps, without being able to download the free games of the paid version.
