As a big fan of The Last of Us series, Art Director of Walt Disney Animation’s Los Angeles studio, Ami Thompson, wanted to immortalize in a drawing the couple represented by Ellie and Dina in TLOU 2.
With this sketch, the American designer follows the example of colleague Nicolle Castro: in early August, in fact, even the Disney Pixar Story Artist wanted to dedicate to Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic saga an artwork focused, this time, on the link between Ellie and Joel.
The subject chosen by Ami Thompson to represent his love for this digital epic has allowed the author of the Disney California Animation Studio to avoid any rhetoric about the romantic relationship between the two girls and to deepen the aspects related to gameplay, with the protagonist of TLOU 2 and his partner engaged in a violent firefight against an enemy outside the field.
Even the vice president of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, appreciated Thompson’s work and thanked the Disney artist for the thought with a message posted on his official Twitter profile. Before leaving you to the comments form and discovering what you think of this artwork, we remind you that The Last of Us Part 2 is scheduled for release on February 21st, 2020 on PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro.
