Nintendo Switch has reached a total of 37 million consoles distributed worldwide, of which ten million have been distributed only in Europe, as many in Japan and over 17 million in North America.
Sales in Europe grew by 30% in the first nine months of 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 and by 40% compared to 2017, a constant growth that demonstrates the success of the marketing strategies of the Kyoto company.
To date, as many as eight Nintendo Switch games have exceeded one million copies sold in Europe: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Ultimate Super Smash Bros, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Let’s GO Pokemon, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Splatoon 2 and 1-2-Switch. Discrete results also for the Third-Party titles, many of which have sold over 500,000 copies, including Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Stardew Valley, Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
In the coming weeks, the Nintendo Switch software catalog will be enriched with new exclusives of the caliber of Luigi’s Mansion 3 (October 31st) and Pokemon Spada and Scudo (November 15th), both candidates to become best sellers of the upcoming Christmas season 2019.
