Missing just a little over a month now from the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, and finally, the Game Freak developers Shigeru Ohmori, Junichi Masuda and James Turner, have unveiled new information on the three starters of the game: Sobble, Grookey, and Scorbunny.
The three developers, on the other hand, have not unbuttoned the evolution of the three Pokémon, but have specified that all three are connected to the Galar region in a way that players will understand simply by playing with it. According to their words, it is the first time that the pokémon starters are so different from each other.
Sobble is defined as the ideal pokémon for gentle and loving coaches towards their little creatures, for its soft and almost helpless appearance. It is water type and has a large fin on its head, and its body becomes transparent when it emerges. The developers weren’t sure how the fans would react to the character, but they knew it would be appreciated in Japan because of the sense of protection that Sobble stimulates in the players.
The personality of Grookey is instead almost the opposite of that of Sobble. He likes to climb and uses his “mysterious stick” to infuse life and energy into the world around him. For example, if you touch the grass with the stick, it starts to grow. It will be a fun pokémon to use, according to the developers.
Scorbunny is super-energetic instead, it’s the kind of pokémon that a trainer expects to find out of his own Pokéball when he wakes up. He often gets into trouble but knows how to keep a lot of company.
Pokémon Sword and Shield will be available starting November 15th. Have you already decided which starter to start with?
