Five Ways to Make Money in Path of Exile

Path of Exile

If you are a new player to Grinding Gear GamesPath of Exile, you will soon notice that currency is going to play a huge part in your gaming experience. With that in mind, here are five ways in which you can make some money to help you get the most out of your PoE Orbs and PoE currency.

Probably not the most intricate way of earning the Path of Exile currency, but it is just as effective as any other method. Some may also refer to this method as “Alch & Go,” and essentially requires a very straight forward tactic. All you have to do here is put in your desired map and wipe out enemies until there are less than 50 left, and then repeat the process. Sounds simple enough, right?

This is because the game tends to appreciate players who are willing to put the time in and reward them accordingly, so don’t be put off by its simplicity. The game is willing to give you according to what you put into it.

Leveling Your Gems

This is the easiest way for any new player to make some money since it requires very little to begin doing so. However, it is time-consuming as it has players wanting to get higher level gems for end-game content without doing the work.

To do this, head over to a website such as which will show you a number of prices that you can match with the gem which you want. From there, simply purchase up to six of the most expensive skill gems and level them as your secondary weapon. Just be aware that the gems you choose are relevant to the type of character you are playing as.

Exalted Shards

This current recipe has been making the rounds on the internet, and you may have picked up on it if you scour websites such as Reddit. This method consists of a gear selection of an amulet, two rings, a chess piece, belt, weapons, gloves, chest piece, and boots. Combined with Shaper or Elder influence, it can vendor for two Exalted Shards.

This is effectively the same method as the Chaos recipe which new players will be familiar with, though it is far more profitable. So the gear could cost you around 10-12 Chaos, whereas you could pick up 10 Chaos for a single shard. So as long as you keep the prices low when you are buying the gear that you are vendoring, then you could be well on your way to making some tidy profit margins with this rather simple method.

Fated Uniques

This way is a bit quicker to do, using items that are dropped known as Fated. These unique items cannot drop on their own but can be acquired by following the relevant prophecy, and fulfilling this will have you needing the non-fated version of the item. These can then be sold as a rare item known as Fated Uniques, which can sell for twice as much as they are worth.

By investing a small amount of Chaos Orbs, you will be able to turn one or two Path of Exile orbs into 8 and beyond. It might sound confusing at first, and may not be as straight forward as Poe leveling gems, but it can be very lucrative when done properly, so make sure that you focus on which combinations will give you the most profit.

Vendor Recipe Uniques

This works like the Fated method, with some items only available via combining, and in this case, vendoring. With that in mind, what you will want to do here is find what items are most prudent to combine in order to the vendor. This is something you can find on a number of sites.

For example, by combining three items of choice, so, for argument’s sake let’s say you want to make The Anima Stone. This will require a Primordial Might, a Primordial Harmony, and a Primordial Eminence. This can net you a decent chaos profit, but it is worth keeping in mind that the more popular the unique item you are making, the harder it will be for you to sell.

These methods will all serve new Path of Exile players quite well, and will hopefully teach the ways of PoE Orbs and PoE currency and how they can be used effectively to line up your virtual pockets. Enjoy your journey from rags to riches!
