Japan’s best-selling games unveiled in September: MHW Iceborne wins hands down

Since Media Create decided not to make its sales data more public, Famitsu has become our point of reference for analyzing the Japanese market. The famous magazine has just published the list of best-selling games during the month of September 2019, predictably driven by Monster Hunter World Iceborne.

The expansion of the Capcom hunting game has conquered both the first and the second position since it has been marketed in two different versions: individually (also arrived in physical stores with a download code) and in the Master Edition, also including the basic game. Together they totaled 1.47 million copies sold, of which over one million in digital format. On the lowest step of the podium figure Dragon Quest XI S for Nintendo Switch, which made itself wait longer than expected, fortunately without betraying expectations. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and eFootball PES 2020close the top five. For the remaining positions and precise sales data, we invite you to consult the following ranking:
