Sony has announced the establishment of a new PlayStation studio in Malaysia.
It will not be a simple office but a real development team, which will join all other members of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios with equal dignity.
“With this foundation, Malaysia will work closely with Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios to create more opportunities for the local and regional gaming industry,” explained media and communications minister YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo.
“Impressive talent, a vibrant gaming system, and government support are the key reasons why we decided to take our partnership with Malaysia to the next level,” added SIE CEO Jim Ryan.
At this point, we are curious to find out what this partnership will bring in the next few years since Sony evidently targets us on a par with other acquisitions such as Insomniac Games.
