The announcement of Diablo 4 was awaited for years and has finally materialized at BlizzCon 2019 and this apparently is not intended to be only the sequel of the series but a real new beginning, based on what was reported by the developers, also thanks to the choice of Lilith as the main antagonist.
The game director Luis Barriga and art director John Mueller have recently spoken to AusGamer about the future of the series starting from Diablo 4, making it clear that the construction of this new chapter lays the foundation for everything that will come later.
Diablo 4 is strongly focused on the main enemy, namely the demon Lilith, daughter of Mephisto and Queen of the Succubi. Apparently, Barriga and Mueller have been strongly fascinated by the figure of Lilith starting from her biblical base, a character that has particularly inspired them and from which the construction of the entire game started.
The story is therefore built starting from Lilith, which at this point puts Diablo on a different level, considering that the series has always developed on the presence of only one main antagonist. The presence of the new queen, therefore, places greater movement in history and creates the basis for an important change for the future.
