AMD said they are working on problems with their drivers and that new versions will provide solutions.
AMD has achieved significant work at 7 nanometers with both Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU architectures. Although we always appreciate these works, it is obvious that the company still has problems with Radeon drivers. Various problems are raised by users in both Technopat Social and foreign forums.
At the beginning of this is the users who use Raden RX 5000 series video card and black screen problems. Most users reported that they encountered a black screen error while playing games or during driver installation.
The problems seem to be caused by software and drivers rather than hardware. AMD recently introduced Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 software, making a radical change in the driver software. The driver has received updates since the day it debuted, but there are still issues to be resolved. AMD made a statement by accepting it in some driver versions.
AMD Adrenalin 20.2.1 Version
“Some Radeon RX 5700 series graphic users may experience black screen from time to time while playing games or on the desktop. A possible workaround is to disable hardware acceleration in web browsers or applications running in the background, such as Discord. ”
In his latest blog post, AMD stated that they are investigating black screen issues and different problems of Radeon Software.
“The stability of our drivers is an important priority for our software team. We closely monitor forum discussions, including black screen and other issues reported by users, and we actively detect and work on fixes. We will let you know when we have more information. ”
In fact, the problems are based on Navi GPUs, but the problems can also be seen on Vega and Polaris architecture graphics cards. When you encounter such problems, you can uninstall your drivers in safe mode with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) software. You can then install it cleanly or try using a different version. It is also useful to report the problem and details you experienced via this link to AMD.
