Gran Turismo aims for the future at 120 or 240 frames per second, perhaps already on PS5: revealed the creator of the series, Kazunori Yamauchi.

Gran Turismo is aiming for 120 fps or even 240 fps for the future, perhaps even starting from PS5: revealed the creator of the series, Kazunori Yamauchi.

“I think 4K is sufficient from a resolution point of view,” said Yamauchi. “Rather than that, I’m more interested in the improvements we can make on the time resolution front” for the next episode of Gran Turismo.

“In terms of frames per second, rather than staying at 60 fps, I would like to raise the level to 120 fps or even 240 fps. I think this will change the experience from here on out.”

After the tests of, In short, Gran Turismo at 8K at 120 fps, Kazunori Yamauchi has understood what the technical direction of the franchise should be.

Will we see the series making a substantial step forward in this direction starting from the episode that will inevitably land on PlayStation 5?
