PS5 and Xbox Series X boast very similar technical specifications, according to the last alleged leak that reveals them: here are the components and power of the new consoles.
PS5 and Xbox Series X will boast very similar technical specifications, according to the last alleged leak that reveals them: the two consoles seem to mount almost identical hardware, but there are some surprises.
According to the leaker, who claims to have gotten the information from the development kits of the two platforms, the characteristics of PS5 and Xbox Series X would be the following:
PS5 – technical specifications
- 12.6 TFLOPS RDNA 1.5
- AMD ZEN 2 3.6 GHz
- 18 GB of GDDR6 RAM + 4 GB DDR4
- SSD with 5.5 GB / S 500 GB speed
- Dedicated cores for ray tracing and 3D audio
- The bandwidth of 576 GB / s
Xbox Series X – technical specifications
- 11.8 TFLOPS RDNA 1.5
- 3.7 GHz AMD Zen 2
- 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM + 4 GB DDR4
- SSD with 3.8 GB / s 1 TB speed
- Dedicated cores for ray tracing (but less than on PS5)
- The bandwidth of 596 GB / s
According to this information, which however would not be definitive regarding Xbox Series X (there is talk of changes to the RAM and total power of 12.1 TLOPS in time for the launch), the new Sony console would find itself surprisingly ahead of its Microsoft counterpart.
Why would it be a surprise? Because such a figure would collide with all the rumors released so far, which have always described the Xbox Series X as a more powerful and expensive machine than the PS5.
In any case, we are talking about minimal differences and almost identical components between the two systems. Will these really be the specifications of the new consoles?
