‘Contagion’ continues to take up positions between the films seen because of the Coronavirus

Already announced some weeks ago ‘Contagion’ was spread as fast as the virus itself from the movie. Now that the issue of the Coronavirus is skin deep, people seem to be interested in the movie as in the novel on which it is inspired.

The novel ‘The Eyes of Darkness’, written by Dean Koontz and published in 1981, seems to have become a book of fashion, since, currently, the book is the third best-selling lists of Amazon. In it, Koontz describes a virus known as “Wuhan-400”, which bears the name of the chinese city in which it originated. Really Koontz called the virus “Gorki-400”, a reference to the Russian city, which for the author was to the point of actual origin, but when the Soviet Union fell in 1991, the later editions ended up calling him the “Wuhan-400” to make you believe that the spread began in China. It could be said that something similar has happened with the Coronavirus, “also” begat in China.

On the other hand, the Steven Soderbergh movie, which premiered in 2011 and is starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Marion Cotillard, among others, shows how their characters join together to try to fight off the awful virus that has already come to the united States, although this advance to a speed that is abnormal and finally ends finishing with 26 million people around the world. The screenwriter of the film, Scott Burns, told in an interview to Fortune that the hysteria existing by the coronavirus is the reason for the sudden interest of the film, “The similarities between our spread and the Coronavirus are irrelevant, accidental, and really are not so important. What is more important and accurate is the social response, the spread of fear and the side effects of that.”. To day of today, ‘Contagion’ is the second film more view in the catalog of Warner Bros, surpassed only by the saga of ‘Harry Potter’.

Paltrow has added to the use of the mask, which seems to have dump the majority, and went up a few days ago a photo to Instagram that said: “On the way to Paris. What paranoid? What prudent? What attacked? What placid? What pandemic? What Propaganda? Paltrow is going to continue forward and to sleep with this thing on the plane. I’ve already been in this movie before. Stay safe. Do not give the hand. Wash hands often”.

The main enemy is the spread of fear

The coronavirus has already arrived to Spain and by the time they’re going more than 300 infected and five who died. In addition, at the global level, the COVID-19 exceeds 97,000 total cases of infection in more than 92 countries around the world. Even so, the health authorities plead that you don’t need to panic and that we should simply maintain proper hygiene measures.
