Leonardo Dicaprio has donated millions of dollars to victims of the COVID-19


Since the new coronavirus became pandemic, there have been several artists in the world who have demonstrated their solidarity on this occasion; it was the actor Leonardo Dicaprio, who raised and donated 12 million dollars which will be used to cover the less fortunate and to the victims of the COVID-19.

The well-known Hollywood star and Oscar winner, he transferred the money to the NGO World Central Kitchen and Feeding America, which coordinates the prominent Spanish chef, José Andrés; to which he expressed that “to this crisis, organizations such as the World Central Kitchen and Feeding America inspire us with their unwavering commitment to feed the most vulnerable (…)”.

In this sense, thanked both teams for their tireless efforts “in the line of fire, and deserve all our support”.

Leonardo DiCaprio donated $ 12 million to the victims of the COVID-19, following the initiative proposed by LaurenPowell Jobs, widow of Steve Jobs the founder of Apple.

That is to say, DiCaprio and Powell Jobs donated a set of 5 million dollars and Apple gave another 5 million dollars to a web page of GoFundMe. Also, the journalist Oprah Winfrey donated one million dollars and the Ford Foundation also placed a million dollars.

It is important to note, that the donation will be to help launch the Fund Food of America, in the midst of this pandemic, which will work alongside the charities of food aid mentioned above.
