Marvel Studios is constantly on the search for the next great director who is in charge of one of his next projects, capturing future talent of first level, before they become familiar names.
In the past, directors like Ryan Coogler, Taika Waititi and James Gunn have used their franchise from Marvel to bring them up to stardom as directors.
The studio behind the Avengers expected to do the same thing with lovers of indie music as Destin Daniel Cretton and Chloe Zhao, who directed the films ‘Shang-Chi’ and ‘Eternals’.
Now, it seems that Alan Yang would direct a film of the MCU, the promising filmmaker has built up a great reputation with her work on Netflix.
Yang began as a writer and producer on ‘Parks and Recreation’, prior to co-create ‘Master of None’ with Aziz Ansari. He wrote and directed several episodes of the series, winning an Emmy for their efforts and winning his first feature-length film on Netflix.
The first film of Yang, ‘Tigertail’, is coming to the streaming service on April 10, and the people of Marvel have already been in contact with him to work together before the debut of the film.
The director has done comedy and drama, but the same confirmed that “sounds like fun, but I met with Marvel to direct a film for them, so maybe what we do in the future”.
Alan Yang would direct a film of the MCU after premiering ‘Tigertail’ which according to the synopsis “this moving drama multi-generational, Pin-Jui is a young factory worker taiwan’s free-spirited but impoverished, who takes the difficult decision to leave behind his homeland and the woman he loves, to seek better opportunities in America“.
The date for the premiere of ‘Tigertail’ will be April 10 on the streaming platform, Netflix.
