On the night of this Tuesday, April 7 arrived in the country from China, the first block of protective equipment for health personnel serving those affected by the disease COVID-19.
In a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic was informed that in this shipment is brought 1,184 boxes with 10.1 tons of gloves of exploration and surgical masks N95, products that are indispensable in the work of treatment and care of the COVID-19.
From the identified needs, sector, masks and gloves purchased will be distributed this week to the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), Petróleos Mexicanos, and the Secretary of the Navy.

Also be delivered to the Coordinating Committee of the National Institutes of Health, and Hospitals of High Specialty (CCINSHAE); the Institute of Diagnostics and Reference Epidemiology (InDRE), and the Administrative Body Decentralized Prevention and Social Rehabilitation.
With the support of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the inputs that apply will be sent to the secretariats of Health of the 32 federal entities.
It was the Institute of Health Welfare (Insabi), in coordination with the ministry of Foreign Affairs, in charge of conducting the negotiations with the government of the people’s Republic of China to establish an air bridge, that would allow purchasing and shipping the equipment to Mexico.
In the evening lecture on COVID-19, Hugo López Gatell, undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, explained that last Saturday it was a plane, rented and provided by Aeromexico, China, with some officials of the Secretariat of Foreign Relations, and the crew.
The mission was very clear, he said, to bring to Mexico purchased inputs over the past four weeks. “What today will allow us to cover nearly 100% of the need for personal protection equipment for units of the National Health System”.

The under-secretary said that this is not the only thing that will come. “It has established an air bridge between Mexico and China, this means that there is going to be a continuous going and coming of these aircraft to bring the various other teams, will come in the near future, ventilators, monitors and other equipment as more specialized”.
The under-secretary said that by the time these shipments will come only from China. “Is the site of the world where you got the largest endowment that allows us to solve immediate needs. Other countries, especially the european region, are having huge difficulties for the own need and have restricted the output of health care supplies specifically required for the response in COVID”.
