“Moves Like Jagger” of Maroon 5 appears in the Top 5 of a new survey that reveals the most played songs in the United Kingdom during the last decade.

The survey, compiled by PPL and BBC Radio 2, revealed the 40 most played songs in the radio and television in the United Kingdom during the decade of 2010.

As reported in the BBC, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams topped the list, followed by “Rolling In The Deep” by Adele and “Moves Like Jagger” of Maroon 5 with Christina Aguilera.

Now recognized as one of the best songs of all time., “Moves Like Jagger” was released initially as an independent single after “Hands All Over”. The coach of the Voice, Christina Aguilera, left his red chair to join judge Adam Levine in this tribute to the leader of the Rolling Stones.

Other entries among the top ten include Daft Punk and Pharrell ‘Get Lucky’, Justin Timberlake ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ and ‘Uptown Funk’ by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. The “Sex on fire” Kings of Leon completed the first 10, you can see the list below.

The songs remaining in the Top 40 will be revealed by DJ Scott Mills on Radio 2 later today, April 13.

Peter Leathem, chief, company licensing music who compiled the list, said: “The 40 most played songs are the sounds that the producers and broadcasters of radio have touched on consistently during the last decade and will evoke many memories for all of us.”

Head of Music at Radio 2 Jeff Smith added that the list was “full of hits pop universally loved and vocalists that truly stand the test of time”.
