Montreux Jazz Festival cancelled his edition 2020

The organizers of the Montreux Jazz Festival announced Friday the cancellation of the edition 2020 of the pandemic, the covid-19.

“The organization of the Montreux Jazz Festival has the deep regret to announce today that the edition planned for 3 to July 18, 2020 will not take place”, said the organizers in a press release.

Among the artists that were going to be present next July at the musical event switzerland featured Lionel Richie and Lenny Kravitz.

“The schedule this summer will be postponed to the next edition, which will be held from 2 to 17 July 2021”, added the organizers.

Switzerland announced Thursday that it will raise the measures of confinement in slowly and gradually starting on the 27th of April, as a result of the slowdown of the epidemic covid-19, which resulted in more than 1,000 dead in its territory.

“In these circumstances, it is impossible today to provide a demonstration of the magnitude of the Montreux Jazz Festival in July,” organizers said.

The concerts of Nina Simone, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Deep Purple, Carlos Santana, Ray Charles, Wu-Tang Clan, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Talk Talk, among many others, can be seen on the platform.
