Stellan Skarsgard adds to the series of “Star Wars” led by Diego Luna



The veteran actor Swedish Stellan Skarsgard has joined the series about “Star Wars” that will star in the mexican Diego Luna and that will expand the “spin-off” (tape-derived) of the saga galactic “Rogue One” (2016).

The middle specialized Variety said Thursday that Skarsgard is about to close their engagement with this television series Disney+ where also will participate the american actor Kyle Soller.

Skarsgard is an interpreter much required in the international arena, especially by its versatility in secondary roles, and it comes to succeed with “Chernobyl”, who gave this year the Golden Globe for best actor in a limited series or a tv movie.

His career includes tapes such as “Breaking the Waves” (1996) Lars Von Trier, “Good Will Hunting” (1997) of Gus Van Sant and the saga of “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Mamma Mia!”.

She has also been part of the movie universe of Marvel playing Erik Selvig, a scientist belonging to the plot Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

For his part, Kyle Soller has been seen in the television productions “Brexit” and “Poldark”.

Diego Luna, who led alongside Felicity Jones in the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, will be the protagonist of this new series that delve into the history of a member of the rebel forces Cassian Andor.

“Returning to the universe of ‘Star Wars’ is very special to me,” said the mexican in November 2018 when it was announced this project.

“I have many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships that I made during the trip. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of you and this exciting new format gives us the opportunity to explore the character in a more profound way”, he added.

Tony Gilroy, one of the screenwriters of “Rogue One”, is one of the main brains behind the series.

Disney was a great success with “The Mandalorian”, the first series non-animated “Star Wars” and that, with the chilean Pedro Pascal as the star, was the spearhead of the launch last November of the digital platform, Disney+.

The giant Mickey Mouse is working on other tv productions on “Star Wars” as a series about Obi-Wan Kenobi that will lead Ewan McGregor.
