It is well known that the continuity of the Movie Universe of DC is in trouble because while Zack Snyder started with a clear vision, the events that occurred afterwards have changed the course resulting in the rupture of the chain of original ideas.

The franchise Wonder Woman is one of the most affected as the story of Diana Prince is more closely tied with the Superman Henry Cavill and Batman Ben Affleck, and although there were rumors that the new film would cut the ties, it has been known that is not the case.

As has been posted the user Luiz Fernando on Twitter (via ComicBook), an article published in Empire states that Batman v Superman will remain canon, and that Wonder Woman 1984 shares the same universe.

According to Empire, Batman v Superman is still canon in WW84 and Diana works in the Smithsonian Museum to keep track of any item dangerous or mystical, and lives in the Watergate complex where you have a view to any direction of Washington and can monitor the government of the united States.

Although this is good news for the fans of Batman v Superman, could be a problem of continuity for the future of the DCEU considering that Ben Affleck will no longer be Batman and is in doubt Henry Cavill as Superman.

Wonder Woman 1984 is released in cinemas on the 14th of August 2020 and will feature a cast formed by Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen and more.
