Patient COVID-19 discharged from Intensive Care

A patient of 42 years who was suffering from COVID-19 was discharged the afternoon of Saturday the Intensive Care unit of the Hospital San Rafael de Santa Tecla, becoming the first person passes the critical state of the disease to be cured, as reported by government authorities and medical sources.

“A new patient is cured of COVID-19 reported this afternoon the Ministry of Health. The person, of 42 years and a native of San Salvador, was treated at the National Hospital San Rafael, and with it, the Government of President Nayib Bukele reaches 44 cases recovered”, reported the Press Secretary of the Presidency.

An ambulance of Fosalud was seen at the exit of the hospital transferring the patient to a containment centre where it will be held in quarantine for two weeks or more.

“We are very happy, very lively and with hope, for this type of patients may be given an option of life,” said the director of the San Rafael hospital, Dr. Luis Angel Ramirez.

The patient spent eight days in the San Rafael Hospital receiving treatment to attack the disease.
