After three years of the election of the director Denis Villeneuve to take charge of a new adaptation of the science fiction novel written by Frank Herbert in 1965, Duneas is known the first official images of the films, made throughout the second half of 2019.
With the expectations generated by being announced as a new interpretation of the work of Herbert and not as a continuation of the adaptation by David Lynch in 1984, in addition to the cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Zendaya and David Dastmalchian (with whom he worked previously Villeneuve in Blade Runner 2049). The images make clear that the visuals will be close to what is shown by the canadian director in the aforementioned sequel Blade Runnerat the same time it follows the line of productions, post-apocalyptic, recent as Mad Max: Fury Road.
The film follows Paul Atreide (played by Chalamet), forced to travel to the planet more dangerous to the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people as a conflict erupts between two sides for control of a resource especially coveted.
