Demi Lovato: “During the past few years my life was controlled by many people”


The actress and singer Demi Lovato has spoken for the first time of his overdose of 2018 and her experience with bulimia during his visit on the Ellen Show. Lovato, known for her stage as an actress in Disney Channel and for his long career as a singer, he said that his former team in control of his life and his diet and that were in part guilty of his drug relapse.

Demi Lovato reached international fame being a teenager, and suffered problems with alcohol and eating disorders from a very young age. In 2011, with 19 years old, she began a stage of sobriety is absolute, until in 2018 he had a relapse. “My bulimia got much worse and I asked for help, and I did not receive the help they needed […] I felt completely abandoned, so I drank. And I went to a party in which there were other things. Passed only three months before it ended up in the hospital with an overdose. Were my actions that put me in the position that I am. And I think that it is important for me to sit here on this stage and tell people that if you pass by the same thing, you can overcome it”.

Lovato explained that “During the past six years, I felt I was living a life that wasn’t mine, I fought very hard with an eating disorder. That was my main problem, and then it turned into other things. I felt that my life was… I hate to use this word, but I felt my life were in control of many people around me. […] I think that at some point, it becomes dangerous to try to control the food of someone when you are recovering from an eating disorder”.

Also told that “If I was in my hotel room for the night, took the phone so she could not call room service. If there was fruit in my room, the drew because it was fruit extra.” And he added: “For many years, I didn’t even have a birthday cake. I prepared a cake made of watermelon. Cut out watermelon in the shape of a cake and put whipped cream without the fat on top, and that was my pie.”

Demi has surpassed

Currently, Demi Lovato has recovered from her bulimia, it was well located, and has changed the team and manager. “My last birthday, my 27th, I spent it with my friend Ariana Grande, and we had the best birthday. I remember just crying because after many years I was eating the pie with a manager that I didn’t need anything from me and that he loved me for who I am”.
