Netflix, the company the world’s leading entertainment service in streaming, released Matchday on the 29th of April in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Canada, among other countries in Latin america. The documentary series created by Barça Studios, includes images never before seen of the daily life of the players.
Thanks to the new partnership between the club and Netflix, the fans will be able to enjoy eight episodes of 45 minutes focusing on eight key matches played in the season 2018/2019. The tv cameras had unprecedented access to the dressing room of the team to record everyday moments in the life of players such as Leo Messi, Luis Suarez, Marc-André ter Stegen, Gerard Pique, Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal.
Matchday it was premiered on the 29th of November in Japan and Europe, Rakuten TV, the video on demand service that also has the broadcast rights in Asia-Pacific (APAC) and the united States. While FC Barcelona has reserved the rights of transmission in Latin America, Canada, Africa and the Middle East.
The series is produced by Barça Studios, which now centralizes all of creation, production and marketing of audiovisual content of FC Barcelona and is already working on the second season of the series.
