Anne Hathaway originally auditioned for Harley Quinn in The Dark Knight Rises

Despite the problems that many may have with films like Suicide Squad and Birds of Preymost can agree that Margot Robbie is a great Harley Quinn. However, this australian actress was not the only one who sought to give life to this character, as it Anne Hathaway originally auditioned for this role in The Dark Knight Rises.

During a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Anne Hathaway revealed that for the third installment in the trilogy Batman of Christopher Nolan, she went to the hearing prepared for the role of Harley Quinnbut to the middle of the conversation, the director admitted that Catwoman was to appear in the movie, and Harley Quinn. This was mentioned by Hathaway:

“I went in and had this lovely top tailoring Vivian Westwood, a beautiful but crazy, with stripes everywhere. And I got these flat shoes with the appearance of Joker. And she was trying to give Chris these little smiles and crazy.

About an hour after the meeting, he said: ‘Well, I’m sure that I don’t have to tell you this, but it’s Catwoman’. And was changing to a gear different. ‘Now, we’re slippery. We are elusive. And I hate my shirt. I love my shirt, but I hate it at this time. We are elusive’”.

At the end of the day, Anne Hathaway did get the role of Catwomanand , eventually, Margot Robbie gave her life to Harley Quinn. Speaking of DC, the next Batman game could start a universe of video games with these characters. Similarly, the Flash movie could eliminate almost all the DCEU.
