A telethon for New York with Spike Lee, Mariah Carey and Robert De Niro

New York will be may 11, a telethon in benefit of local charity the Robin Hood and thousands of new yorkers affected by the pandemic coronavirus, in which will participate a crowd of celebrities such as Robert De Niro, Spike Lee and Mariah Carey.

The event of a time, organized in collaboration with the group of media, iHeartRadio, will be conducted by the writer, actress, film director, and producer Tina Fey.

From 19H00 local (23H00 GMT) will perform on the telethon are a multitude of celebrities, almost all with ties to New York.

The group Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Mariah Carey and Sting be interpreted several songs.

It is also expected the participation of Jennifer Lopez, Barbra Streisand, Lin-Manuel Miranda -actor and creator of the comedy musical “Hamilton”- and Trevor Noah, host of the program “The Daily Show”.

All of the donations will be destined to the association of Robin Hood, which collaborates with more than 250 organizations that provide food to the most needy, and help finding a job or housing.

According to the bureau of employment statistics (BLS), the number of people with work in New York city shrank by 129,000 between the months of February and march.
