Drake dropped some exciting news in the midnight of May 1 for his fans, the announcement of his new album and the release of a mixtape.
He began sharing the news by the release of his new mixtape entitled Dark Lane models. It consists of 14 songs and has invited the participation of Chris Brown, Giveon, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti, reports CNN. The tape also has previously leaked tracks and releases from SoundCloud.
The biggest news came after the mixtape release, however, when Drake told fans that her first album in more than two years, was dropped this summer. This will be the rapper’s seventh studio album, the first since 2018 the Scorpion.
Southside, Pi’erre Bourne, Noah “40” Shebib, and Plain Pat are the record producers, quoted Pitchfork. Previously released tracks include “Tootsie Slide,” “Desires”, “When to Say When”, “Chicago Freestyle” and “War”.

Instagram users praised the new mixtape, while commenting on the rapper’s last post of the promotion of the release.
“Quarantine thrivin,” wrote one user, who ends his comment with the flame emoji.
“Too much fire bro,” added another, who has also published several called emoji.
One of the new songs from the mixtape titled “Demons,” references Kylie Jenner’s billionaire status.
“My TD Bank is what? (What?) / My TD Bank is Kylie (Ayy, ayy),” Drake rapped in the first verse.
Though it seems as if the rapper is saying is that his account of the state bank is comparable to that of Kylie, it could also mean something more. The two were
the center of relationship rumors before that the coronavirus pandemic began. The pair reported that “in each one of the other” at Drake’s birthday party in December, according to Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
Drake has been making his mark in the music industry in these past few months in other ways as well.
The rapper created a viral TikTok dance for his new single “Toosie Slide” as a way to promote the song. It has also created a music video for the single which dropped on April 3. He filmed the music video remotely from his mansion in Toronto, due to the travel restrictions put in place to help fight against the coronavirus.
In April, Billboard announced that became the first male artist to have debuted three songs at number one on its Hot 100 chart, a feat he achieved with “Toosie Slide.” He joins Mariah Carey as the only other musician to have completed such a feat. Mariah debuted three songs at number one in 1995-1997.
