The celebrities were melancholy yesterday (first Monday in may) because there took place the Gala of the MET. Celebrities shared photos of them at the event or on their way down the red carpet of previous editions. Katy Perry is not focused on the past and in its place, he shared a picture of the corset you would have used this year if the event had not been postponed because of the coronavirus. “What would have been … # TheMetBall2020?”, he wrote in the photo caption of your publication in which is displayed a mannequin with her look signed by Jean Paul Gaultier.

This would have been the first time that the singer would presume her pregnancy on a red carpet and the corset was just for that, to show your figure. It is not clear when it will be held the MET Gala (the museum Met is closed indefinitely) and what is more likely is that you no longer will use it because your baby will be born this summer.

The look of Katy reminded us of the iconic top of cones of Madonna in the 90’s that also fit perfect with the theme of the gala: About Time: Fashion and Duration. That issue, according to The New York Times, arose out of a “tension between the desire for sustainability and a garment that lasts and the desire of planned obsolescence and a new garment that takes us back to a store” in the fashion industry.

A spokesman for the MET said in march that after the authorities reported that there should not be gatherings of 50 people or more in the next eight weeks, the museum decided that all events on those days would be canceled or postponed, “The MET Gala was, of course, one of those events. Not yet announced a new date, and New York city is still under the order to stay at home”.
