In this sub-genre of the horror film gangs teens will be stalked by murderous psychopaths with a lot of charisma. Especially if it gives them by using drugs or having sex. Blockbusters that have had up until our days in all kinds of sequels, prequels, remakes and even crossovers impossible.
Psychosis (Alfred Hitchcock, 1960)
The root of all would have to be sought according to many experts in this majestic adaptation that Hitchcock made the novel of the same name. It was the end of the classic monsters that Hammer and Universal had been adapted from the literature. Dracula, Frankenstein and the wolf-man were replaced by simple human. Assassins urban with weapons and trauma is not overcome. Norman Bates was the first of these anti-heroes, making the ham knife in gun fetish. Had two sequels horrible (and not because of her fear), a telefilm, a remake was unnecessary and a series highly recommended (Bates Motel).
The Texas chainsaw massacre (Tobe Hooper, 1974)
Hooper, however, was the one who opened the veda to kill teens cascoporro. Thanks of course to Leatherface and his iconic power saw. The masks would be trendy in the following securities of the genre. The directorial debut of Tobe dipped from the minute one in an environment unhealthy to where we know that we must not encariñarnos with any of the protagonists. And would clear the moral: the city boys are not welcome in the deep America. The series consists of eight deliveries, counting sequels, prequels and remakes.
Halloween (John Carpenter, 1978)
Michael Mayers takes from the late seventies to punish the fictional town of Haddonfield. Of course that could be anyone with a mask of white, a monkey of a mechanic, and a ham knife. Has had a total of seven sequels, and when the thing gave no more than they did the remakes by Rob Zombie. In the latest installment, 2018, returned to the protagonist of the original: Jamie Lee Courtis, that like so many other acclaimed actor of Hollywood debuted on a tape of gender.
Friday the 13th (Sean S. Cunningham, 1980)
The directors of the terror they had to pass such a tough time as Jason in the summer camps to which they sent them to their parents. That would explain the horrible things that they do to the younglings who decide to spend their vacation. The revenge of the boys marginalized will be terrible. With his mask of hockey and his machete, Jason Voorhees has starred in ten installments in the franchise in which he came to leave his usual Crystal Lake to go kill the space. Also a crossover with Nightmare on Elm Street (Freddy vs. Jason2003), and a remake in 2009.
Nightmare on Elm Street (Wes Craven, 1984)
Freddy Krueger has starred in the nightmares of several generations on both sides of the screen. In theory you burned alive, the parents of his victims. In reality he died of success, and the terrifying and mysterious killer of the claws would end up becoming a pop icon like rapeaba eating a piece of pizza telling a joke. Seven deliveries, the aforementioned crossover with Friday the 13th, a documentary, a remake and even a unbearable television series in full crest of the wave. Wes Craven and Robert Englund have made many people happy.
The doll diabolical (Tom Holland, 1988)
The last great icon of horror movies eighties. Convinced of the bad roll which give the dolls to the damned and their potential film, Holland created Chuky, along with Don Mancini and John Lafia. His character has starred in of time eight installments of the saga, including the remake of 2019. In all these years we’ve seen him go girlfriend (Tiffany), get married and even have a son (Glen). It is already one of the family.
Scream (Wes Craven, 1996)
Already in the decade of the nineties, Craven returned to give with the formula for success. Ghostface asediaría to the students of the institute of the fictional town of Woodsboro following the clichés of horror films, including his mask ghostly and ham knife. It’s a exercise of metacine, which swept away at the box office, getting three sequels, an entire franchise of parodies (Scary movie) and even a version pornMena).

The heat of the success of Screamthe slasher returned to it became fashionable. The years ahead would bring new titles to the genre such as this, whose killer was based on the urban legend of the man of the hook. Adaptation of the novel of the same name by Louis Duncan wrote in 1973. Had two sequels, the last released directly on DVD. Also a song of Melendi.
Final destination (James Wong, 2000)
Alongside his trusty partner, the screenwriter, director and producer Glen Morgan, James Wong is able to sign big blockbusters and loud thud. Dragonball Evolution it is only an example of the latter. After numerous episodes of the golden era of The X Filestandem created the first great horror franchise of the new millennium. Although this time the killer was not no character is physical, but the destination itself. A franchise of five deliveries (more novels and comics) where the desbarre is served. And what’s really interesting was to see the ways increasingly bizarre in the dying protagonists.
