The famous actress is also part of Nightmare Alley, the new film by Guillermo del Toro.
Cate Blanchett, who is going through one of the stages most hectic of his career, will work with the directors James Gray and Adam McKay in the movies Armageddon Times and Don’t Look Up, respectively.
The specialized Variety, explained these new projects of Blanchett with two of the filmmakers most admired of Hollywood’s contemporary and that are joined to other ribbons that I had in the portfolio and the actress for the future: Nightmare Alley, with Guillermo del Toro, and the adaptation of the video game Borderlands with Eli Roth on the front.
Armageddon Time is based on the experience of James Gray as a student of the school Kew-Forest School New York, a center that studied, by example, the president of the united States, Donald Trump.
Gray shone in ribbons as We own the night (2007), Two Lovers (2008) or The Lost City of Z (2016), and last year presented the family drama in space, Ad Astra, with Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones as actors.
On the other hand, Blanchett will be part of the comedy from Netflix, Don’t Look Up that is being prepared by Adam McKay with Jennifer Lawrence as the star. Will tell the story of two mediocre astronomers, who, however, must face the difficult company to warn all of humanity that is approaching an asteroid that will destroy the planet.
Winner of the Oscar for best original screenplay for The Big Short (2015), McKay has excelled as a director in tapes such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), The Big Short, and Vice (2018).
It has also become a producer of prestige to be placed between frames in a series as acclaimed as Succession.
For her part, Blanchett is a performer well-respected in Hollywood with two Oscar nominations for The Aviator (2004) and Blue Jasmine (2013) and that has also excelled in other films such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), Carol (2015) or the trilogy of The Lord of The Rings.
