There is little doubt that people are already waiting for the next adaptation of Dune after they released the first images of the highly anticipated film. It is not surprising that even the star of the original film is already hyped for the new movie starring Timothee Chalamet. Kyle MacLachlan had previously interpreted to Paul Atreides in the 1984 movie directed by David Lynch. Interestingly, the actor from Twin Peaks and admitted he is already excited about the new adaptation of Denis Villeneuve.

Kyle MacLachlan could now be one of the finest actors known in Hollywood, but there was a time when he was just a young actor hopeful in the 1980s. Interestingly, his first important role was in the adaptation of David Lynch’s Dune, where he played the young Paul Atreides. Although the role has now been assumed by Timothee Chalamet in the new version of Denis Villeneuve, MacLachlan stated that he has nothing against the new film. In fact, the star of Blue Velvet is already waiting for the next adaptation.

In an interview with Kyle MacLachlan admitted with enthusiasm that I was already excited about the new film of Dune. “I’m anxious to see it. I think that Denis is a filmmaker so wonderful that he has assembled a cast really great,” he said. MacLachlan then revealed that he had grown up reading the works of Frank Herbert and that he had always been a big fan of the books.

“I loved those books when I read them for the first time, I think I was 15 years old, as well as 1972-73,” said MacLachlan. “I’m still a fan, particularly of the first book, is one of my favorite books, if not the favorite book, I read it every year.”

Even though Kyle MacLachlan is clearly excited about the new adaptation of Dune, David Lynch is not as enthusiastic as his star. The director of the movie Dune 1984 had previously declared that he was not interested in the new movie. However, MacLachlan is quick to point out that he and Lynch had different opinions.

“I see it from a different perspective to that of David, of course, and I think that the book is so rich and the relationships are so interesting. There are many ways to interpret it. I’m anxious to see what [Villeneuve] what does, “ he said.

Dune also will star Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem. The film premiere is scheduled for December 18.
