Frankie J: “Songs to Remember” is a tribute to the music that I grew up (+INTERVIEW)


The singer and composer of mexican-american, GRAMMY-nominated, Frankie Jand makes his great return to the music scene with their new album homesick is entitled “Songs You Remember”. In this album, Frankie J makes a performance special topics in classics with which he grew up listening to from an early age. Among the performers original songs are great stars such as: Roberto Cantoral, Vicente Fernandez, Eydie Gormé, Selena, José Alfredo Jiménez, José José, José Luis Perales, Juan Gabriel, Pedro Infante, Rocío Dúrcal, Alvaro Torres, Los Panchos, and Javier Solis. Simultaneously, Frankie J also premiered today the second single and video belonging to this musical production, “Failed Heart”. A few weeks ago, Frankie J premiered the first single from the album “Sabor A Mi”composed by Alvaro Carrillo and originally performed by Eydie Gormé and Los Panchos.

In these times of uncertainty that we are experiencing at the global level, Frankie J wanted to launch this new production to provide a kind of antidote to everything negative that is surrounding the world in these moments. And what better way to do that than with a collection of classics with a new twist and refreshing. “Songs You Remember” it is composed of fifteen themes that pay homage to songs such as “El Triste” by Roberto Cantoral, “And As it Is The” by José Luis Perales, “Good Friends,” Selena and Alvaro Torres, among other great classics.

“This album is one that took me a year and a half to finish. I’m sure the fans will understand and appreciate the same as I do. “Songs We Remember” was made with much effort and with a lot of heart. Although it is quite the opposite of what the radio is playing today, I’m proud of what we have accomplished. The most important thing to me is that you hear it and enjoy it. I have faith that you are going to fall in love again with these recordings, because they are classics for a lifetime. I’m very excited to be back!,” expressed Frankie J.

After a career as extensive and successful as an artist, multi-platinum, in both the Latin american market and american, Frankie J has proven his incomparable talent in creating successes as well as issues in this new production, have become eternal. Frankie J began his career as part of The Kumbia Kingscreated by AB Quintanilla, producer and brother of the late Selena. One of the topics that managed to position itself as one of the most important exponents of the music is “Obsession (No Es Amor)” next to the rapper Baby Bash, which is ranked #3 in the list of Billboard Hot 100. Following the success of this theme, Frankie J also launched the simple “Don’t Wanna Try”, “How To Deal” and “More Than Words”, which is positioned in the Top 40 of Billboard. In collaboration with Baby Bash, released another single, global, “Suga Suga”that was in the list Billboard Hot 100 Singles charts for over 25 weeks. Frankie J has sold more than 2 million records around the world as a soloist and has collaborated with a variety of artists of different genres, including Pitbull, Play-N-Skillz, Becky G, Wisin, Leslie Grace, Without Flag, 3LW, Paula DeAnda, Mannie Fresh, and Paul Wall, among others.
