Kelly Clarkson join the hit singing competition The Voice as a coach, but not right away.
NBC announced Thursday that the singer of “Stronger” will accompany as coach to Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the 14th season of the program. The singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will be a coach on the 13th, which will begin airing in September of 2017.
Clarkson has previously appeared in Voice as the advisor. Laureate Grammyhas experience in programs of musical competence: he was the first winner of American Idol.
Hudson was also among the 10 finalists of “Idol” in 2004, and later won an Oscar for her role in the cast of “Dream Girls”.
The early announcement of Clarkson as a coach of “The Voice” might respond to the announcement that ABC will bring “Idol” back to the screen, just a year after Fox it cancelled after 15 years on the air.
ABC has not yet announced who will be the judges of the revived series.
NBC has not said who will be the fourth coach for season 14 of The Voice.
