The organization of the Festival of Urban Music Big Sound in Valencia, which had planned to hold its first edition in the City of Arts and Sciences and the 10th and 11th of July, has reported that, due to the current situation derived for the health emergency of the coronavirus, moves its dates to the next 30 and 31 October.
From the organization indicated in a press release that: “For the organization, the health of our public, team and artists has always been a priority, that’s why we already had the new date from more than a month ago with all the relevant changes are confirmed, both public and private, as with our artists and local public entities. Not having reported before, responds to the hopes of some official indications to the sector by the Government, whose response has always been that “wait until the last moment”.
As has happened with most of the big festivals of the country that were to be held between June, July and August, “this is not the response that both the public as organizers we need to. The dates are approaching and the promoters of live music have had to take initiatives in the hopes that they arrive “these” solutions on the part of the authorities”, declared from the organization of the Big Sound.
So the Big Sound confirms “for this new date, 100% of the artists already announced, both on the main stage as on the stage in charge of The Basement, including international artists such as Nicky Jam, Becky G or Lunay and national as C. Tangana, Bad Gyal, Don Patricio and Ana Mena among others.”
To lack 50% of the poster to be revealed in the coming weeks, the festival confirms that “due to the change of date add new artists, among them there will be big names in the panorama of the Urban Music”.
With this new date, which coincides with the bridge of Halloween, is expected to receive a 30% of national assistants from outside of the Region of Valencia, “enhancing the revival of the local tourism sector, as affected by this situation.”
In terms of format, “not only is still two days of outdoor concerts, gastronomy, workshops, and cultural activities suitable for all kinds of audiences, but the day of Saturday, will last more hours, including a session tardeo, prolonged until well into the early hours. The organization has already put all its machinery to work to ensure the maximum safety of all attendees in front of the Covid-19”, indicate.
Among some of the measures already in place, Big Sound will be the event technology of Enterticket and IDASFEST, received the award in the past two years as the best technology for festivals on the Iberian Festival Awards.
This technology will allow digitizing many of the processes, without the risk of unnecessary exposure and facilitating the experience of the attendees. Access more fluid, without large agglomerations, capacity control, and purchases via a wristband cashless, not using money in cash, they are some of the technological solutions that will have Big Sound.
The fertilizers sold so far, are valid directly for the new date “without the need for any management and also the organization has already communicated a series of promotions by e-mail to all of their buyers, rewarding their patience and loyalty”.
For those not able to attend, will be informed how it will be in the process of return of fertilisers as well as the different alternatives that may exist as soon as the competent authorities indicating the sector of festivals the measures to be taken, and as provided for by the applicable legal framework.
