I was desgastándome and honestly I think that was what sparked everything that happened in the last year: I thought I had found the recovery, when you had not done so. Lovato acknowledged that, although it was making to another form of the same problem, the symptoms were much more difficult to detect.

“I’m tired of tire myself out with exercise and do extreme dietsof which I thought were part of my recovery of an eating disorder, when in reality I was making more to this. And now I think that maybe my symptoms were not as obvious as before, but it was a dietary problem”, he said.

And I was in that situation… When you don’t have people who know the signs around you… what I needed was someone to come and tell me ‘you should see how much you are exercising’, or ‘exercise three times a day is a bit excessive’” stated.

His obsession reached such a degree that she could spend a whole day doing exercise, not leaving even to eat or to work.

“There were times in which I lived at the gym, and even took boards in my work and free time of exercise. It was disgusting, but I had to leave, take a shower and could eat and get back to exercising. That was not happiness, nor freedom, nor by what had worked, or what he wanted to preach. Why live that life, if it was all a lie? So I just decided not to live as well”, he said.

Now, in the project in which they are working, Lovato he took a new attitude and decided to see life from a new perspective to maintain his mental health and his sobriety.

“And when I realized that I was not happy, I made a decision to enter this album and I’m not going to worry about how I look. I’m not going to worry about seeing me in a certain way, it is not who I am”.
