If your brothers and sisters were killed in cold blood, persecuted, irrumpidos while asleep in the middle of the night and then killed by those who swore to protect themwhat continuarías with your daily life as if nothing had happened?

On the occasion of the #BlackoutTuesday T. I., Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and many more have left in the dark in his Instagram as a form of protest for the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others at the hands of the police.

The decision is a choice of not to make any publication in the social media for 24 hours, except for a black and white image that represents solidarity.

Along with that, the guidelines are as such: to suspend the flow of music and flows of YouTube for the day. Cancel/close/suspend the participation in all studies, classes, and meetings of dance. Identify ways of help your community. Strengthen their knowledge about contemporary race relations and the history of the difficult situation of social, political and economic of the black people in the USA.

The initiative, created by executive music Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang, declared that they are in this fight for the long term. In his own words:

“It is a day to take a pace for a conversion that is honest, reflective and productive on the actions that we need to take collectively to support the black community”.

Protests after the death of George Floyd

As we come to the half of the year, the protests sprouted up in more than 200 cities of the entire nation. From Los Angeles (California) to Miami (Florida). And Chicago (Illinois) to the city of New York.

I was able to witness first hand the powerful speeches from some of the leaders of the city during the protest of Newark (in New Jersey). And as they gained more and more coverage, millions of people all over the world started to show support, including more than a dozen record labels latino.

Sony Music Latin, Rich Music, Universal Music Latin Entertainment, and more have made statements about their positions on sociopolitical. Artists Zion (Zion & Lennox), Prince Royce, Peter Hood, Becky G, Sofia Reyes, Justin Quiles among others also support publicly the cause.

The united states is now dividedhalf of the country exhausted and enraged by the police brutality, and the other half showing indifference and/or simply being playful about all this. Whites, indians, hispanics, not just blacks, are fed up with the mistreatment of african americans.

Slavery ended nearly 158 years (June 19, ), but there are still murders and “lynching” public with little or sometimes no impact for the assassins. It took almost two months for Travis and Gregory McMichael were arrested for the death of Ahmaud Arbery.

And it took him 4 days to Derek Chauvin to be arrested despite the fact that we have all been able to see their pitiful performance with George Floyd. Both murders were filmed.
