Coty has announced that the director-general of Kylie Cosmetics, Christoph Honnefelder, has abandoned the brand, having been appointed in January of this year.
“Coty announced yesterday a series of changes that will enable the company to focus on their business, prestige, and beauty in the mass, including the renewal of the investment in the development of electronic commerce, the franchise of beauty, of prestige,” said the company in a statement FashionNetwork.com by Andra Mielnicki, vice president of Global Marketing Influences and Luxury Coty.
The business of beauty of Kylie, including Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin, will now be overseen by Simona Cattaneo, president of Luxury Brands, according to the statement.
“As part of this effort, we are building a solid base to support our strategic partnership with Kylie Jenner. As has been pointed out on the call today with investors, Simona Cattaneo, president of Luxury Brands, is overseeing the expansion of the business of Kylie for Coty,” he explained.
“She assumes the responsibilities of Christoph Honnefelder, who announced to the management team a few weeks ago, internally, that does not assume the role of CEO of Kylie Beauty for personal reasons. Under the direction of Simona we are excited about the opportunities offered by the business Kylie Beauty, as indicated by the recent and very successful launch of Kylie Skin in Europe,” he added.
Prior to joining Coty, Honnefelder worked for the retail of beauty european Douglas as executive vice president of Assortment and Shopping. Previously, he also held various senior management positions at Tchibo, a German retailer of consumer goods, and coffee.
Coty acquired for the first time a majority ownership of the business of beauty of Jenner in November 2019 for us $ 600 million.
