This Thursday, the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) confirmed the dates and times for the final of the Paulistão Feminine 2021. Corinthians will face São Paulo for the state title.
As they had the best campaign in the first phase of the competition, Corinthians decides for a place at home. The first confrontation takes place on December 4th (Saturday), at 4 pm, in Morumbi. The return match will be played at Arena Barueri, on the 8th (Wednesday), at 9 pm.
The Brabas could not play the semifinal in Itaquera. After eliminating Ferroviária in the semifinal, also in Barueri, last October, president Duilio Monteiro Alves had confirmed that the final would take place at Neo Química Arena. The Corinthians president, however, changed his speech recently.
In an interview with my helm, Duilio explained that, due to the Manaus International Tournament, played by the Brazilian team, the dates needed to be changed. Thus, the new dates for the finals would fit in with other Neo Química Arena commitments.
The fans will be able to attend the final, but the matches will also be able to be followed by television and internet. O SportTV will broadcast the duels on closed TV. The matches will also be displayed in the YouTube from São Paulo, in ElevenSports and in the Paulistan Play.
Corinthians and São Paulo reissue the Paulistão 2019 final. Two years ago, Timão lifted the state cup for the first time in its history in front of the crowd at Neo Química Arena. With more than 30,000 fans, Majestoso marked the largest audience in women’s football games in Brazil.
After becoming three-time Brazilian and Women’s Libertadores champion, Corinthians seeks the three-time champion of the São Paulo Women’s Championship in 2021. Therefore, if they beat São Paulo and take the title, Arthur Elias’s squad will win the triple crown this season.
