Discover 6 cars Kia can bring to Brazil in 2022

Kia wants to grow in the Brazilian market. With a current share of only 0.17% of total sales in Brazil in 2021, the South Korean automaker recently launched in the country its new logo and brand positioning, with a focus on mobility and electrification. Among the novelties, the first car launched with the new brand identity was the Stonic hybrid SUV, a model with which Kia intends to double the automaker’s sales in Brazil.

Although Kia’s growth plans in Brazil have been affected by the global semiconductor crisis, the South Korean automaker is preparing a package of innovations for the Brazilian market in 2022. Among them are the renewal of important models for the brand in the country , like the new Sportage and Cerato, and also the arrival of new cars. Check out six news that Kia should bring to Brazil in the coming years.

1. Kia Niro
The Kia Niro is already an old promise of the South Korean brand for Brazil. First shown to the Brazilian public in 2018, the Kia Niro was already included in the Inmetro consumption table and had its launch confirmed for the end of 2021. However, the SUV should only be launched in Brazil in 2022 in the next generation, which will be presented this Thursday (24) at the Seoul Show (South Korea). With a little smaller size than the average SUVs, the new Kia Niro will bet on hybrid versions to conquer consumers of the Jeep Compass and Toyota Corolla Cross.

2. Kia Sportage
Unveiled worldwide in June, the new Kia Sportage will arrive in Brazil electrified in 2022. Under the hood, the new generation of SUV will have the same set as the hybrid Sorento, which offers 230 hp of power and runs up to 16.5 km/l with gasoline . With larger dimensions than the previous model, the new Sportage bets on a bold line design to keep itself in the lead among passenger cars sold by Kia in Brazil.

3. Kia Seltos
Another model quoted to arrive in Brazil is the SUV Kia Seltos. A long-time pledge from the South Korean automaker, Seltos shares a platform with Hyundai Crete. Still in the homologation phase in the country, the model should arrive imported from South Korea. Abroad, the Seltos can be equipped with a 1.6 turbo engine with 177 hp or the 2.0 aspirated engine from Brazilian Crete, programmed to offer 160 hp of power. Still no date to arrive in Brazil, the new Kia Seltos should be positioned below the new generation of Sportage.

Completely renovated, the seven-seater SUV bets on a package full of equipment and technological resources. One of the highlights of the new Kia Sorento is a hybrid version, which combines a 1.6 turbo engine with an electric propulsion. Together they deliver 230 hp of combined power and 350 Nm of torque. Still no official launch date, the new Kia Sorento should be the top-of-the-line model of the brand in the country.

One of Kia’s best-selling cars in Brazil, the Cerato should receive visual news soon. It is the same facelift that debuted on the sedan sold in South Korea and the USA. In addition to design changes, the new Kia Cerato is also expected to offer semi-autonomous driving equipment and a new multimedia center. As it is imported from Mexico, the new Cerato should arrive in Brazil as early as 2022, or when the stock of the old-looking sedan runs out.
