Palmeiras took care of all the details to prepare the final environment for the Copa Libertadores, even at the hotel where the delegation is staying in Montevideo. From the aircraft that took the group to Uruguay, there is the message that became the motto of this trip: “We will protect what is ours”.
Current champion, the team defends the continental title on Saturday, at 5 pm (GMT), against Flamengo, at the Centenário stadium. Those who traveled with Palmeiras already had this message on the plane’s seats along with their names.

In the hotel room, the club and the coaching staff left kits prepared with the game’s pennant and a photo in the personalized picture frame also with the phrase “let’s protect what is ours”.

In the bathroom mirrors, they also set the path to the Libertadores final, with striking words from the games, such as “defensive solidity” and “intelligence” in the semifinal against Atlético-MG. The club also prepares videos with messages from family members and more materials related to the history of alviverde before the decision is made.
This preparation of the environment is not unprecedented and was also carried out before the final of the last edition of the Libertadores, in which Verdão beat Santos. At the time, the motto was: “Do you know what brought us here? It’s what will make us raise the cup! The dream is now.”
Altogether, around 90 people traveled in the delegation, including players, coaching staff, directors, in addition to the idol Evair, invited by the club, as well as Filippo La Rosa, Italian consul general in São Paulo.
The consul, who in August gave President Maurício Galiotte the decoration of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity, is the head of the Palmeiras delegation in Uruguay.
