There is an expectation for the payment of the PIS/Pasep allowance from January 2022. It will reach all those who are entitled to the benefit. Next year, there is also the possibility that the allowance will be paid in double. Even because the transfers for the base year 2020 were postponed for reasons of financial reallocation.

On the double PIS/Pasep payments related to arrears, the government did not comment. The Deliberative Council of the Worker’s Support Fund (Codefat) is expected to announce in January the complete calendar of payments. New information will be released soon.

The value, according to current perspectives, of the new minimum wage could be R$1,210, on average, for those who worked the full 12 months. The allowance calculation is based on the number of months the employee has worked in the base year. The minimum time to have formally worked in the base year is at least 30 days.

Who will be entitled to the benefit in 2022

The PIS, as we know, is intended for private sector workers and the Pasep concerns public servants. Thus, all those who worked in the base year (2020 or 2021) for at least 1 month in a formal manner are entitled to. The rules are as follows:

  • Be registered in PIS or Pasep for at least five years;
  • Have worked for at least 30 days in the base year of the withdrawal;
  • Have average monthly earnings of up to two minimum wages;
  • Be registered with the RAIS (Annual Social Information List).

Employees who have questions about the Annual Social Information Report – RAIS can seek details through the Ministry of Labor and Employment – ​​MTE website. Workers listed at RAIS and who worked for 12 months may, therefore, receive the benefit. Starting in January, with the release of the calendar, it will be possible to identify payments.

Private sector workers receive through Caixa Econômica Federal. Workers who work in the public area, on the other hand, receive through Banco do Brasil. To check the allowance, simply download the Caixa Trabalhador application or through Internet banking.
