The Progressive Party decided not to support the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) on Fuel Prices. The decision would have come from the president of the party, the minister of the Civil House, Ciro Nogueira, the information was confirmed to the Mail by parliamentarians close to the head of the legend.

Deputies heard by the report say that there is no interest in moving forward with the collegiate three months before the elections and one of the reasons would be that the investigation could reach the parliamentarians themselves. “This CPI is crazy now, 3 months before the elections. It is not able to walk (the CPI)”, said a parliamentarian to the Mail.

Another deputy said that the president himself (of the Chamber of Deputies), Arthur Lira (PP-AL), was one of those investigated in the petrolão: “He has not the slightest interest”.

When asked about the retreat, another congressman said that “it is not yet the time” to support the CPI.

The request to open the Fuel Price CPI began to circulate this Monday (20/6). Even after the resignation of José Mauro Coelho from the presidency of Petrobras, the allied base articulates itself in favor of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). To install the collegiate, 171 signatures are required.

In the application, the deputies want to investigate the conduct of Petrobras’ Board and Board of Directors on prices; institution of the state-owned company’s management model; reasons for the company’s indebtedness and liability management; impact of the granting of corporate benefits on the prices charged; tax model for fuels and derivatives; and the effects resulting from tax evasion.
