Brazilian football
New moves will take place next month
Despite having a very underwhelming season, striker Gabriel Barbosa, known as ‘Gabigol’ or simply ‘Gabi’, may be leaving Brazilian football for the Premier League this season.
Happy at Flamengo, the striker’s year 2022 is not so encouraging. In Libertadores, Flamengo is doing well, but, in the Brasileirão, the giant from Rio de Janeiro occupies only the bottom of the table, while their rivals are getting further away.
With an eye on the player for a long time, the fate of shirt 9 could be the Wolverhampton, from the Premier League. The interest, which was old, grows again with the window of the old continent close to opening for business. According to sources, there are already conversations with Flamengo to better understand what the club and the player want.
In the Premier League, powerful teams look to Gabigol. In addition to the Wolves, Newcastle and Arsenal have already shown interest in the striker. The Palace too, though at the moment it’s rumor and nothing more than that; Gabriel is happy in Brazil and has a good contract with the carioca giant.
Wolverhampton can pay double for Gabigol
Also according to local information, Wolverhampton can shell out a hefty sum to count on Gabriel Barbosa: BRL 315 million – which would be approximately 58 million euros. If this is really confirmed, Gabigol will be one of the biggest sales in Brazilian football in all of history.
