Pedro Pascal and David Harbor will star in My Dentist’s Murder Trial, an HBO series based on real events and inspired by an article published in 2017 in the magazine The New Yorker.
The story of My Dentist’s Murder Trial begins in 2015, when Dr. Gilberto Nunez is indicted for murder: he was accused of having poisoned his friend and neighbor, Thomas Kolman, forcing him to ingest a sedative substance that led to his death. During the investigation, a romantic involvement between the dentist and Kolman’s wife, Linda, also emerged, which was pointed out as the main motivation for the crime.
Still according to the deadline, Pedro Pascal will play Dr. Gilberto Nunez, but HBO has not confirmed whether David Harbor will be Thomas Kolman or the writer James Lasdun, author of the New Yorker article that gave rise to the series – because he knew the real dentist, who had attended to him and his family for years.
The script for My Dentist’s Murder Trial will be signed by Steve Conrad, even responsible for successful films such as The Pursuit of Happyness and Extraordinary. For now, there is still no official premiere date for the HBO miniseries.
As for the stars of the series, the public can rest easy: there is no lack of recent attractions in which they appear. Even after the end of the first season of The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal is still on the air in the role of another father. The third season of The Mandalorian is currently airing on Disney+ with episodes released weekly – the final chapter arrives on the streaming platform on April 19th. Although already confirmed, the second season of The Last of Us still does not have a release date.
Meanwhile, David Harbor is preparing for the return of the 5th and final season of Stranger Things: the series starring Millie Bobby Brown will be filmed again in 2023 and should arrive in the Netflix catalog only in 2024. The actor went even further and joked about the possibility of his character getting a spin-off after the end of the main series.
“Hopper is a character that can exist independently of me. If they want to go back or forward in time… I would love to see another actor play him and see what they can bring to the table,” Harbor said in an interview with GQ magazine. Before that, we’ll see the actor back on screen in Gran Turismo, a film inspired by the true story of a game player who became a racing driver.
