Pokémon GO Classic Community Day in January 2023 already has a protagonist: All the details about Larvitar’s special event – Pokémon GO

Exactly one year after the tradition of celebrating a Classic version of Community Day in Pokémon GOthose responsible for Niantic have revealed who will be the protagonist of this event in the month of January 2023. It is about larvitar, the ‘pseudolegendary’ introduced in the official games on the occasion of the second generation. One of the most powerful creatures in the history of the franchise when it reaches its last evolutionary stage (Tyranitar) that also gives the stature in this ‘spin off’. As usual, this Classic Community Day offers us, in addition to an improved appearance rate, some additional incentives.

All the details of the Classic Larvitar Community Day (January 2023)

Larvitar’s special event will take place on Saturday, January 21 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time and it will allow us to get Larvitar in his shiny or variocolor form. Additionally, if we evolve a Pupitar to a Tyranitar to complete the evolutionary chain, the latter will learn the Anti-Air attack. It will be the second time in the history of the game that we can get this combination of attack and pokemon, which was already available in the Community Day of 2018. However, if we missed it or did not play at that time, it is an occasion particularly interesting. It is important that this movement can only be achieved if we carry out the evolution once the event has started and, at most, up to two hours after completion.

As usual, all Pokémon GO players will have access to other benefits while the Larvitar Classic Community Day lasts.

  • Triple experience to capture
  • Incense activated during the event will last for 3 hours (does not apply to daily adventure incense)
  • Bait modules activated during the event will last for 3 hours
  • Surprises in the photos taken during the event

Additionally, players will have access to a Special Field Investigation in exchange for the equivalent of one dollar. In short, everything we can expect from the Classic Community Day. A tradition that has become one of the most beloved by the Pokémon GO community and that rounds off the calendar of events in this month of January 2023.
