USA.- The last update of Overwatch 2 introduced the new event Battle for Olympus, one of the first original events of Overwatch 2 they were not present in the original game. This new event features a series of challenges, rewards, and a free to play deathmatch mode featuring Greek God-themed characters. But fans aren’t impressed with this new Olympic-themed extravaganza, and there are a number of Olympian-sized reasons.
One of the significant new additions to this unique event is a new deathmatch mode of the FFA, but fans have scrutinized the balance of this new mode. a thread of Reddit, calling the Olympus event “arguably the worst event in Overwatch history”, it racked up over 2,000 upvotes, upsetting the mode’s balance due to the presence of heroes like roadhog Y Junker Queen.

Another post, calling the event “a disgrace”, pointed out how the event skin is an old Mercy skin that has been around in the game for many years. this skin is skin Winged Victory of Mercy, P.So those who already have this cosmetic will have little incentive to participate in the event. While it makes sense aesthetically, it’s still an odd reward to choose.
Another common complaint is the difficulty of the event challenges, all for lackluster rewards like player titles. To earn certain player-exclusive titles, you must score 300 final blows in this particular game mode on seven characters. To get the Mercy skin, this means you need a total of 2,100 final blows. Additionally, support characters like Lucio are also in the mode, making this challenge even more difficult.

There are new skins you can buy in the game, but you’ll have to shell out some real money. This is rubbing players the wrong way, as the only free skin is already available to players. One player called the event nothing more than a “skin showcase”, even pointing out how to place characters like Pike Y Widowmaker in a game mode full of tanks “it doesn’t make any sense”.
There’s no word from Blizzard on any efforts to revamp this event or the rewards, but one thing is clear: players aren’t enthralled with the Battle of Olympus.
