The new type of Xbox event for the end of January 2023 is filtered and that will feature Forza, Redfall and Minecraft among its protagonists

This 2023 promises to be a historic year for video games. Nintendo wants to throw the house out the window with Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, while Sony prepares the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as the great exclusive of the year. What about Xbox?

After a somewhat weak year 2022 (although Obsidian gave its best with Pentiment and Grounded), Microsoft wants to resurface this year with great releases like Starfield or Redfall.

And there the thing does not stop, because it will also be the turn of Forza Motorsport 8 or Minecraft Legends. It is still too early to know if the Fable, Hellblade II or Avowed Will they be ready or will we have to wait until 2024?

When will the first Microsoft event take place? It is certain that we will see it in this first quarter, and perhaps we are facing a great revolution in the form of a new format. Don’t expect a big Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase type event, mind you.

Xbox’s ”State of Play”

It sounds ugly, but it is the best way to define it. Not quite the grandeur of the Xbox/Bethesda events for E3 or Summer Game Fest, but bigger than the indie-focused ID@Xbox.

According to information from Jez Corden, Microsoft prepares the birth of a new Xbox event with news of games already announced and certain surprises. And the first edition would be held this month.

We are talking about Xbox Developer_Direct, a medium-sized event whose first edition will be held next January 25, starting at 9:00 p.m. Spanish peninsular time.

The idea is to broadcast the event through the Xbox channels on Twitch and YouTube. Hand in hand with the developers, Microsoft would reveal lots of news about the main games in development for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows and Game Pass.

It is said that in the event both Xbox and Bethesda will be presentacting as direct partners as we have seen in previous years.

What games will be in the Xbox Developer_Direct? Titles like Forza Motorsport 8, Redfall and Minecraft Legends are practically confirmed, along with a small showcase of ZeniMax Online dedicated to the company’s two MMOs: Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online.

The great absence of the event would be Starfield, the great Microsoft exclusive after Halo Infinite, and the first original Bethesda IP in 25 years. In principle, its launch is scheduled for the first half of 2023.

maybe Microsoft wants to save the Starfield letter for another timeeven starring in its own showcase (as with State of Play in certain titles).
