Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 updates on the way in the coming weeks, Blizzard reassures fans of its loot-seeking RPGs as attention begins to turn to Diablo 4’s June release date . The Overwatch 2, World of Warcraft and Hearthstone developer has also put out a call for new job applicants as it hires more positions to expand the Diablo 4 team in the months leading up to launch.
In posts on the Diablo Reddit and Blizzard forums, Diablo Community Manager Adam ‘PezRadar’ Fletcher provides a glimpse of what Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 players can expect during January and February, and comments that the team has “seen a plethora of questions over time” about upcoming seasons and updates.
The Diablo 2: Resurrected season 3 ladder reboot is expected to “kick off sometime in mid-February,” says Fletcher, with more details on the exact date to be delivered in the coming weeks. There will likely be additional adjustments to the new Dread Zones and Torn Charms that have been introduced since Diablo 2: Resurrected patch 2.5.
In the meantime, the next Diablo 3 update is expected to hit the PTR “towards the end of January”, with notes available on the blog ahead of its release. That means we should have news on that very soon, so we’ll be sure to bring it back when we do. Diablo 3 Season 27 has proven popular so far, thanks to its hallowed item mechanic that introduces new class-specific powers for legendary gear.
As for Diablo 4, we’re still eagerly awaiting news on the Diablo 4 public beta release date. However, it appears that Blizzard is looking to expand the development team in the lead up to the game’s currently scheduled release. .
