The international section of Counter Strike will begin this week with BLAST Spring Groups and 12 high-level squads. All the info, here!
After a 2022 full of emotions that ended with G2 Esports as champion of World final played in Abu Dhabi, BLAST renew your energies. And it is that this Thursday January 19 the Spring Groupsbeginning the 2023 with the best Counter Strike competitive.
Initially, the dispute organized by BLAST will have the presence of 12 teams. These will be divided into three groups of four within a double elimination format (Bo3). In it Group A they will be Heroic, Evil Geniuses, Vitality and Astralison the side of B Group we will see FaZe Clan, Complexity Gaming, Team Liquid and OG while they will close G2, BIG, NaVi and Ninjas in Pajamas as part of Group C.
For their part, the crossings for the Day 1 of the BLAST Spring Groups of Counter Strike were established as follows, with days and hours corresponding to Buenos Aires, Argentina:
- Group A:
heroic vs. EG – Thursday 1/19, 11:00 am.
Vitality vs. Astralis – 1/19, 2:30 p.m. - B Group:
FaZe Clan vs. Complexity – Friday 1/20, 08:00 am.
Team Liquid vs. OG – 1/20, 11:00 am. - Group C:
G2 Esports vs. BIG – Friday 1/20, 2:30 p.m.
NaVi vs. PIN – Saturday 1/21, 08:00 am.
It should be noted that those teams that win their groups will access directly to the BLAST Spring Finale. The tournament will be played in the first week of June 2023. Along with this ticket, each organization will reap the sum of $27,500 Y 2,400 points for the annual table of BLAST.
However, the organizations that remain in the BLAST Spring Groups will continue to compete with Phase play-in. The changes from the previous round are simple: Bo3 to direct elimination, the round 1 will face the third and fourth positions, with every second place awaiting a rival in the round 2.
The idea behind this new phase is to get three new qualifiers direct towards Spring Finals. On the other hand, the monetary prize will be $17,500 and the points BLAST of 1,200 for each squad that it is reflected in the papers of the fourth to sixth instead of Spring Groups.
Lastly, the teams located of the seventh to twelfth position will be sent to the showdowns of their respective regions (Europe and America). These teams will have during the month of april another chance to earn a place in the great contest of june that will deliver $425,000 in prize pool.
